On the ending to “Friday the 13th Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan.”

(Originally written July 1, 2015 for my Facebook page of “Wade’s Review Reviews.”)

Spoiler Alert! Well, okay, few people would care about spoiling the end to this movie, because it’s a Friday the 13th movie. Anyway, this reviewer, whose name is “mx50virus,” has questions about the ending to “Friday the 13th Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan.”

I watched this movie last night, and I had to see what others felt about it. It is indeed a confusing end, and 50virus (or whatever) raised legitimate questions about it. Why is there a radioactive waste container sitting randomly in the sewer? We know that’s how the Ninja Turtles were made, but it’s still questionable. Why did the wall of sewer water cause Jason to basically disintegrate and turn into a boy? Also, why isn’t the Jason boy physically deformed as he is throughout the series? Even in the first movie they show Jason as both deformed and bald. In this scene he is neither. Even more confusing, the Jason boy is occasionally shown as deformed in the movie. Basically, I’m just repeating the questions he asked in my article. Then again, one can hardly fault me for that. I assume most people would ask these same questions.

The movie has a few decent moments, and a general charm to it, such as when a nerdy camcorder carrying student loses his glasses like Velma from Scooby Doo. Still, none of this eases the confusion.

As an incredible coincidence, yesterday I also watched an episode of “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” which features a giant wall of sewer water in its storyline. As you can tell, I accomplished almost nothing yesterday.
